My Story
I never set out to become an entrepreneur.
In fact, if you had asked me in my high school what I would be doing today, working as an “enterpreneuer” would have been probably one of the last things I imagined.
Like many careers, mine didn't begin with a grand plan. It began with curiosity, a willingness to work hard, and a genuine love for people.
My early years were spent in hospitality, entertainment, production, and client-facing roles. As I moved from modeling to production assistance, sales management, and eventually entrepreneurship, I found myself consistently drawn to the same thing: helping people bring ideas to life.
The turning point came while working alongside executive assistants and business leaders who were juggling countless responsibilities. I noticed a gap. Talented people with incredible ideas often lacked the support, coordination, and trusted partnership needed to move those ideas forward.
So I started helping.
What began as a simple desire to solve problems, support others, and create opportunities for myself eventually became Reflections By Jillian.
Looking back, I realize there was a common thread running through every chapter of my career: hospitality.
Not hospitality as an industry. Hospitality as a way of being.
The word hospitality traces back to the Latin word hospes, meaning both guest and host. In ancient cultures, hospitality wasn't considered a business transaction. It was a responsibility to welcome, care for, and create belonging for others. The Greek concept of philoxenia expanded this idea even further, meaning "love of strangers."
That philosophy resonates deeply with me.
I'm the friend who gets excited to host a book club—not because I'm interested in entertaining, but because I genuinely love welcoming people into my home. Making a fresh pot of coffee, preparing food to share, lighting a candle, setting the room to the perfect temperature, and creating an environment where people feel comfortable enough to tell the truth about their lives. There is something beautiful about gathering around a table, sharing stories, discussing ideas, and helping one another grow one day at a time.
The older I get, the more I realize that meaningful experiences are rarely about the event itself. They're about how people feel. They are about belonging. Being heard. Feeling safe enough to contribute, connect, and be fully present.
Whether supporting a client, coordinating an event, mentoring a woman in recovery, speaking on behalf of survivors, volunteering in my community, helping someone organize a project, or simply introducing two people who I think should know one another, I have always been most fulfilled creating spaces where people feel seen, supported, connected, and empowered.
In many ways, Reflections By Jillian was born from that same instinct.
A belief that people do their best work, share their best ideas, and build their strongest relationships when they feel welcomed, understood, and genuinely cared for.
Today, while the services may evolve, the mission remains the same: helping people move forward with greater clarity, confidence, connection, and support.
In a world that increasingly values automation, speed, and efficiency, I believe human connection remains one of our greatest assets.
Because every meaningful experience begins with connection.
And I believe every stranger, every new acquaintance,
is simply a friend we are making room for in our lives.
